John P. Parker, "The Conductor"

A Release Length Dramatic Film and Documentary

True heroism

Frederic Douglass once said, “If there is no struggle, there is no progress." This documentary film finally brings to life Parker’s words as he recounts amazing stories of escape, his role as a conductor in the Underground Railroad and his contributions to America. The words of abolitionists like Frederick Douglass framed the global discussion that focused America on the struggle against slavery. John Parker’s words resonated with the same truths; “It was not the physical part of slavery that made it cruel and degrading, it was the taking away from a human being the initiative, of thinking, of doing it his own ways.”
